Cesaro's role has recently been in the middle of the pack in WWE, enhancing the guys above him on the card. He's not had a spell of dominance in the ring since the end of his United States Title reign. He has been able to show of a different set of his skills. This big powerful worker isn't just an athlete, he is a performer. Time after time he has been able to make those above him look good in the ring with the quality of his selling. He is able to make the offence against him look devastating. His facial expressions, his willingness to throw himself around the ring and his balance all add to illusion of being hurt. Cesaro has a terrific trick he pulls off during matches, straightening his legs and rocking back on his heels while his eyes go completely blank, and just for a second you completely buy the illusion that he's been knocked senseless. WWE have used Cesaro to make those around him look good, and he has done this without fail. His ability to sell is not just for the benefit of others though. Nearly all the greatest superstars have been terrific at selling their opponents offense, and this is true of Cesaro.
