WWE: 10 Reasons John Cena Is At A Career Low Point Right Now

4. He Is Overworked And Overexposed

Part of the reason for Cena's current rut could be down to the fact WWE are working him too hard. That's the situation we saw with the number 2 company star CM Punk, who eventually decided 'enough is enough' and quit the company. Cena is too proud a person to do that, he feels personally responsible, he isn't going to admit there is too much on his plate. On the outside looking in, he certainly looks over worked. The Big Show had this to say about Cena in WWE 50 "He's doing something like 29 out of 31 days ... he can run 8 weeks in a row, not go home, and still outwork everyone around him with a smile on his face." Granted Cena might outwardly be smiling, but there's no way that sort of schedule isn't having some sort of physical and mental exhaustion on the body. Cena is doing too much, the reason being that WWE can't create enough stars at his level to share the load. Even Daniel Bryan does 5 times less merchandise sales than Cena does. WWE commercially need their main man but the long term overexposure is more and more hurting his critical legacy as a performer.
