WWE: 10 Reasons We Want A New WCW Nitro Reboot On WWE Network

8. Build A World Title That Matters

Right now, Randy Orton struts around holding both the WWE title and the Big Gold Belt (which WWE has christened the "world heavyweight title" for whatever reason). It's no secret to longtime wrestling fans that this Big Gold Belt is instantly recognizable as the WCW world title. Why not relaunch Nitro and have a wrestler reclaim the belt and rename it the WCW title? Title belts have become too much of a prop in wrestling. Instead of the belt being used as a tool to put someone over or to add importance to a match, title belts have been passes around and cheapened so much that they have become almost meaningless. Seriously, does it matter if John Cena becomes world champion for the 29th time or whatever at the next pay-per-view? No, of course not. You can have WCW reclaim their belt and then never, ever have title matches on "normal" television. Save the title matches for the big events and, even then, the champion wrestling should be treated as something special. Relaunching Nitro would allow WWE to split the titles once again but, this time, it would actually make sense.

Mike Shannon hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
