WWE: 10 Reasons WCW Should Return In 2014

1. Repeat The Success Of The ECW Brand Revival

WWE brought back ECW to both creative and commercial success, fully exploiting the assets of their ownership. ECW's revival made the WWE money on PPV, a TV deal, merchandise and DVDs. The nostalgia sold to the masses, many of whom must have had never even watched the original ECW. Vince has the assets to do the same with WCW, and get every penny he can out of his ownership like he did with ECW. The fact is that WCW was much bigger than ECW, if ECW could do that well on WWE TV then an exclusive separate brand of WCW should be able to do even better. McMahon could play it much the same way he did with ECW, he could push a WCW One Night Stand pay per view, in which guys like Goldberg, Hogan, Sting, Big Show, Nash, Mysterio and other distinctive WCW guys come back to wrestle a show in the WCW style. Vince could do all this in a southern arena, and have the old WCW ring and set to give the full feel of a WCW show. This could then be followed up by the invasion angle in which WCW could seize Smackdown. From there the creative and commercial opportunities would be limitless. The ECW revival brand ultimately failed because WWE only had an hour show to push it, and the original harcore feel was lost as they pursued family entertainment. Well, Smackdown would give WCW a Two hour platform, and WCW was family entertainment to begin with, so it would fit in well with WWE's current structure. Whether or not this ever happens is anyone's guess. Vince McMahon has been stuck in a status quo for years now. However, it was reported in October 2013 that WWE had listed the old WCW name 'Bash at the Beach' for June 2014 and also began discussions about a War Games match for October 2014.
