3. Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant - WrestleMania 3
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzcMnD3-XDM Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant at the Pontiac Silverdome in Detroit was one of the most anticipated matches ever. Hogan was the WWE Champion for over three years while Andre was the guy that WWE usually billed as undefeated whether it was true or not. The guy didn't lose. He was also bigger than everybody else. In other words, he was the favorite in every match he was in. What made the feud so great was that Andre was booked as a babyface for much of his career, but when WWE realized that they needed a big name opponent for Hogan they went to the Giant who had the legendary Bobby Heenan as his manager. The way they told the story with Andre challenging Hogan on Piper's Pit led to a lot of fans wondering if Hogan really could beat the unbeatable giant. Is it a great match? No. Not really. Andre wasn't a good worker while Hogan was pretty bad especially in those years, but most people only remember the finish. When Hogan slammed Andre he gave fans a moment that has been watched and discussed likely more than anything in wrestling history. Every wrestling fan knows that Hogan slammed Andre followed by a leg drop to beat him. It was one of the biggest matches ever in front of one of the largest crowds WWE has ever had. There was enormous hype that they were able to live up to.
