WWE: 11 Top Stars Who Quit Over Creative Decisions

2. Batista Quits Over PG

It's ironic that Dave Batista is back in WWE in 2014 when the company is more PG driven than ever. The star had originally quit the business in 2010 (when there was still an edge of adult themes) because he believed the company was no longer a creative environment he could work within. The Animal cited WWE's insistence on PG content as being the reason he quit, stating that it too severely limited his ability to work. Because Batista clearly sees himself as an edgy over 18 act right? After quitting the company, Batista on several occasions voiced his disdain over WWE's creative. Even just before coming back in 2014 he referred to WWE as "Hokie town." Perhaps the lure of money and a failed MMA career convinced him to tolerate PG creative because he was back with his tail between his legs a few years after strongly criticising the compant. In 2010 he had said that wrestling was in a bad place and had gone downhill since turning PG. The Animal went on to blame the new creative direction for stopping him using techniques he learned from Triple H and Ric Flair, stating that he couldn't use his tools anymore. The displeasure Batista had for WWE creative was loud and vocal, yet here we are in 2014 at the height of the PG era with him main eventing Wrestlemania 30.
