WWE: 11 Top Stars Who Quit Over Creative Decisions

10. Eddie Guerrero And Chris Benoit Leave WCW In 1999

WCW was awash with bad creative decisions as the year 2000 approached, most famously the Bill Goldberg streak being ended by a taser, or how about Hulk Hogan beating Kevin Nash for the title with a finger poke? Two men who had seen enough of bad creative were close friends Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit. The pair of talented wrestlers were desperate for an opportunity, and a bit like CM Punk, they were sick of not getting a chance despite regularly being the best talent on the show. In early 2000 they decided that enough was enough, and left WCW along with Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn. Ironically WCW really didn't want to lose Benoit, so at Souled Out 2000 the company put the vacant World Championship on the star. The win over Sid Vicious for the gold wasn't enough, with Benoit quitting the next day due to disputes with management. Perhaps the heart of the matter was WCW's decision to make Kevin Sullivan head of creative. This was the man who Benoit had stole his wife Nancy Sullivan from ... so needless to say the Crippler saw his card marked for all future creative prospects.
