2. McMahon Helmsley Regime
(image above from WWE 12) This is a storyline that built up for a while, and when finally executed, ran for a long time in 1999 and into 2000 and beyond. Because of this, its the type of storyline that would give you opportunity to play as a number of different characters. The McMahon Helmsley Regime came about when Triple H and DX joined forces with Stephanie McMahon to take control of the WWE. If this storyline were to be included, I would start it with the re-formation of DX in October 1999 and go from there. Ideally from here, the game would give you a choice of whether to carry on as the reformed DX, or as the rest of the WWE Locker Room. This would allow the player to take part in each DX members individual storylines like the Outlaws Tag Title programme with Rock and Sock, X-Pacs feud with Kane and Triple Hs world title storylines. Obviously, this could also include the forced marriage of Stephanie McMahon, and subsequent match between HHH and Vince McMahon at Armageddon in which the McMahon Helmsley Regime was formed. From here, the game would benefit greatly from the regimes matches, which they made extremely biased in favour of DX and against the rest of the roster. Again, this would give people the opportunity to replay some of the biggest moments in the history of the WWE. Players would be able to play through HHHs famous Street Fight and Hell in a Cell matches against Cactus Jack in early 2000, and the 4 men WrestleMania 16 main event including The Rock and Big Show. One of the benefits of this is that it would allow for multiple different stipulation matches like HHHs bouts against the Rock in an Iron Man Match. In real life the faction started to fade away by mid 2000, so it would be best to end the in game storyline with HHHs feud with Chris Jericho. Whether playing as the Regime trying to maintain control of the WWE, or the opposing face wrestlers, this great WWE storyline would provide numerous big moments to lend from and create a great gaming experience.
