WWE: 20 Awful Gimmicks That Were Quickly Dropped

2. Mordecai

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vNuNaotdgg Mordecai was a guy that dressed in all white and said that he was there to rid the world of sin. What better way to do that then wrestle all the good guys of the wrestling world? Yeah! No. Just no. They actually gave him a decent push in 2004 when the brand extension was in full swing and they tried to do a lot of silly gimmicks on the Smackdown brand especially. Could you imagine WWE putting Mordecai in a PPV match in 2014? Not a chance. Ten years ago, though, he had several PPV matches and they tried to get him over. The gimmick only lasted on WWE for about four months in 2004 until it was eventually dropped and we never heard from Mordecai again. Did they have big plans for him? It sure felt like it. Those plans never seemed to materialize, though. That's probably a good thing. You might remember that Mordecai also wrestled as Kevin Thorn on the ECW brand. That wasn't a successful gimmick either, but Mordecai was worse.
