WWE 2K25: 12 Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You
3. Hit R1 Or RB In The Corner To Initiate Instant Recovery
This has already ruffled some feathers, for good reason.
Instant Recovery, previously a Payback before becoming as much a part of virtual WWE matches as spammed running attacks, IS useful when done right. It can be a difference-maker in matches as, unless you're stunned, it can raise you back to your feet after any attack. It can also, like running strikes and grapples, be spammed two or three times in a row if playing as a higher-rated Superstar whose Instant Recovery slider is maxed out.
It is activated by pressing R1 (PlayStation) or RB (Xbox) when you have filled your momentum meter - the middle blue bar on the player HUD - and was previously limited for use if you were prone on the mat. Now, it can also be activated if you are stationed in the corner, standing or seated. Using it will require the same method: deal out enough damage to fill your momentum meter and wait for your moment.
Its inclusion in WWE 2K25 comes alongside a reworked level of AI awareness, as opponents are now more likely to race to the other corner to build their speed for a corner attack, usually taunting before they charge at you. Hitting Instant Recovery here will be your best friend.
