WWE's Cruiserweights No Longer Being Weighed
The latest backstage news on Raw's fledgling division.
Several backstage notes regarding WWE Raw's cruiserweight division have emerged today.
According to reports from the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, the company are no longer weighing the division's participants on the main roster. Cruiserweight Classic competitors were required to make a 205lb weight limit prior to the tournament, with Cedric Alexander and Alejandro Saez cutting tens of pounds to make it, but WWE have now abandoned that policy.
It's suspected that the move has something to do with Vince McMahon, who had next to nothing to do with the CWC, but still plays a heavy role in Raw's production.
Aside from this change, Ariya Daivari and Sin Cara appeared on this week's Raw, and both are expected to play full-time roles in the division. Sin Cara's weight has also changed after entering the division: once announced as 205lbs, the former Lucha Dragon now weighs 198lbs.
Scotland's Noam Dar at Raw but wasn't used on television. Dar is known as someone WWE have plans for, but he, Jack Gallagher, Akira Tozawa, and a handful of others are yet to feature in the fledgling division.
