2. Chris Jericho
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXgw3LgdJdY Nine times. Chris Jericho has been Intercontinental Champion nine times. While having held the world title just as many times or more might be a more distinguished accomplishment, having Jericho in the IC Title picture for so long only meant that he was trusted to help those along the mid card get to the next level, or at the very least put them over in order to cement their status as a strong upper mid card wrestler. Just ask Shelton Benjamin and Kofi Kingston. Having been in the company for as many years as he had, he also defended the title and won it from a long list of who's who of wrestlers often regarded as great workers. Since the days of Tito Santana and Greg Valentine the Intercontinental Title has always carried that reputation for being the championship of the all-around technical wrestlers. Granted there's been a few champions that have tarnished that reputation here and there, but Jericho played a major part in helping keep that reputation intact.
