WWE: 6 Reasons Your Criticisms Of The Current Product Are Plain Wrong

2. Less Talk€

Every day I hear this same argument, "more wrestling, less storyline". Literally I hear that (read it actually, ha) every single damn day and I am writing this to put a stop to it. Why do you watch pro wrestling? Why exactly? Are you actually invested on who will win a title because said wrestler went to your high school? Do you support a wrestler because he is from your hometown and thats just what you do (like NFL)? NO. Its because of the combination of soap opera mixed with mma that gets you to watch (thats a very BASIC way to put it but its essentially right). Do you think that Eddie Guerrero's quest for the WWE Championship would've been remembered so fondly or as memorable as it was if he just walked up to Brock and said "I challenge you to a duel" (slap slap). Or would CM Punk's legendary title run of 434 consecutive days mean anything to you if he was just thrown against opponent after opponent due to a ratings system? Since Cena is seemingly literally indestructible would he have held the championship for about 5 years straight by now? If the answer to any of these questions are yes then might I suggest you are watching the wrong show. Its the character development that keeps you engrossed and unfortunately you can only have a character arc if you have a storyline. Granted, some stories have massively backfired but at least they are still trying. And considering most of you smarks turn off wrestling at a drop of a hat must make it extremely difficult to even conceive a plausible and relevant storyline because of all the second guessing that would go thru your head. Have any of you ever tried to write a screenplay? Its hard work and a lot of writers only manage to get one sold thoughout their entire career. And these people essentially have to write a screenplay every day, to me that just screams of frustrating, simply because of all the second guessing that would go thru your head every time you come up an idea. I am sorry but if you have never been put in a situation before where a deadline is a deadline and if you don't meet the expectations that are place on you, you are fired, then you simply have no argument against ANY form of wrestling storytelling. And on the same note€.

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life???? All demos, no albums ;)
