This is a move that would definitely piss off a lot of The Shield's fans, but WWE has shown that they are not above partnering Cena with people they think will help him get cheered by the crowd. The Shield is a very popular group and a logical assumption would be that their popularity would carry over to Cena. The Shield are feuding with one half of The Authority while Cena just publically insulted the other half on Raw, which ended up putting him in a match against Kane. Joining up with The Shield to combine forces would give Cena something to do now that he appears to be done with Bray Wyatt and it puts The Shield in a position to pose a threat to Triple H, Seth Rollins and Randy Orton. After all, it doesn't have to be a long-term partnership.
