WWE: 7 Genuine Examples Of Triple H Doing "What's Best For Business"
7. He Lost Three Times CLEAN To The Undertaker At WrestleMania
The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak may be the most important commodity in all of wrestling in terms of how valuable it is. Titles come and go, but "The Streak" is one of those things that can last forever. Hunter made history as the only man to face The Undertaker three times at a WrestleMania. When they had their matches in 2011 and 2012, they really didn't like to mention that Hunter already lost to Undertaker at WrestleMania x-7 in 2001 in Houston. That match was the second biggest one on the show. It's not like people forgot about it. When Hunter wrestled Undertaker at WrestleMania 27, he wasn't expected to win. You could also make the case that Undertaker was going to remain as popular as ever no matter who he faced. However, beating a guy at Triple H's level was a wonderful way of continuing the story because the way it was done was so brilliant. Undertaker won the match via submission and then had to be helped out of the ring because he was in so much pain. Great storytelling, which led to one more match. The WrestleMania 28 match with Hunter and Undertaker was different than every other Undertaker match at WrestleMania because it was contested inside Hell in a Cell. Not only that, but Shawn Michaels was the referee too. It had a special feel to it. There was a point where Undertaker received a Superkick followed by a Pedigree immediately where we thought maybe the streak would end, but Undertaker kicked out. He found a way to win again. Hunter's WrestleMania series with Undertaker was beneficial to both guys because it showed that Hunter was capable of taking Undertaker to his limits while the Deadman showed he still had something left on the grandest stage of them all no matter who his opponent was.
