WWE: 7 Huge Positives From 2013

6. Surge Of The Shield

the shield It is with much shame that I admit when the Shield first debuted in November of 2012 I thought they would be nothing more than lackeys, brought up as nothing more than a way for CM Punk to keep the title throughout his rivalry with Ryback. Oh, how wrong I was. In 2013 The Shield triple powerbombed their way to dominance, and in doing so have become one of the most entertaining parts of any WWE broadcast. They have excelled in every type of match. Their six man tag matches are almost always guaranteed to be match of the night, however, it's not just six man matches that the shield perform well in. We've seen Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins branch into a traditional tag team, and capture the gold. Their title defences were all very good, culminating with their final match as champions--a fantastic bout against Cody Rhodes and Goldust at Battleground. Dean Ambrose has had some amazing singles matches, taking on Daniel Bryan and CM Punk in some excellent bouts. As a cherry on top of the sundae, it turns out the Shield are just as good on the mic as they are in the ring. Their backstage promos and vignettes have been innovative, and well executed. Traditional match or street fight, tag match or singles, The "Hounds of Justice" have proven that fans everywhere should follow their creed and "Believe in the Shield".
