1. Roman Reigns
This is perhaps the most interesting potential match for a returning Batista because Roman Reigns seems to be following a career path that mirrors that of The Animal. After a successful stint in the developmental league, Reigns got the call-up from WWE in late 2013, where he joined a highly successful group known as "The Shield". The group dominated, and Reigns captured a tag team title along the way, however, lately there seems to be dissension among the ranks, and Reigns may be looking to go on his own. This is eerily similar to the situation of Batista, who was called up to WWE in late 2002. It was not long after that he joined the stable known as "Evolution" (alongside Ric Flair, Randy Orton and leader Triple H). The foursome dominated opponents for over a year. Batista was even able to capture the tag titles with Ric Flair along the way. Eventually, things got heated between Batista and Triple H, and The Animal had no choice but to go solo. Batista went on to win the world title just two months after he left the group. The only thing Reigns has left to do in following Batista's footsteps is to take that one final step and capture World gold. That final step could come through tackling the very man his career has echoed, Batista.
