2. MR Stephanie McMahon.
Anyone who truly believes that Trips got to where he is on his own merits are not only deluding themselves but could either possibly be blind or Triple H himself. He knew exactly what he was doing when he used the corporate DX storyline to get his end in. He knew that his days were probably numbered after he was forced to drop the belt because of his inability to draw a crowd. So when the chance to seduce Stephanie came he took it, regardless of how long he was with AND engaged to Chyna. And we all know what happened to her once she was dumped by the wayside. I remember watching "David Letterman" one night when he had special guests Triple H and Chyna on to hype a ppv. Not only did they have a talk about how they hooked up and their upcoming nuptials but Dave himself got a low blow from Chyna to show how Triple H was able to win so many matches because of his "secret weapon.". Now the irony of that is astounding but I will leave it and move on. Suddenly, he was head of Corporate DX and Stephs main squeeze. And BAM, Chyna was gone. Trips was engaged to a McMahon and now a bonafide Hall of Famer whether he earned it or not.
In the space of 10-12 months he went from getting married to Joanie Laurer and a mid-card "b player" at best who couldn't draw to being married to the bosses daughter and headlining consecutive Wrestlemanias (where he still couldn't draw). The funny thing is that in researching this article I could not find any reference to the now mostly forgotten Letterman skit, I assume he has gotten the WWE video library nazis to scour the internet of all references and delete them accordingly. Now If you can read what I have mentioned so far and still believe that he got there on his own merits, then how about I throw this curve ball at you and show just how diabolical this man can be when it comes to ascending the corporate ladder.
