WWE: 7 Things Top Stars Did After Losing Big Matches

5. Turn Heel Or Face

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wySjfwcAKW0 When somebody in WWE turns heel from being a face or vice versa, often times they do after losing a series of matches or one key match. The reason they do this is because WWE figures that if that performer is in a new role they're not going to remembered as a loser in the old role. A recent example is from last year when Ryback lost to Mark Henry at WrestleMania 29. The booking was confusing because Ryback was a guy on the rise and Henry is an older wrestler, so when Henry won clean it was a bit of a surprise. The next night Ryback turned heel. In WWE, they just assume we have short memories and don't care that the guy lost a big match. It's on to the next role for that person. When Titus O'Neil broke up with Darren Young, he turned heel after they lost a match. The loss was used as a way to facilitate the turn, but more importantly for the future of O'Neil as a heel. We figured he would get a push out of it. That didn't really happen due to booking getting lazy. It's something to keep an eye on in the future. If you notice somebody on a losing streak, sometimes you'll see him or her turning soon after. It's WWE's way of doing a "reset" for that performer.
