5. Sin Cara
Since his WWE debut in January of 2012, the Sin Cara character has been on quite the rollercoaster ride. The first man to portray Sin Cara was the Lucha Libre star Mistico, who was a main event player in Mexico. He was so big in fact, that he actually became a comic book character. As any pro wrestling fan knows, Lucha Libre incorporates a very high-flying, very dynamic style. The talent who work this style have been known to pull of some death-defying moves in and out of the ring, electrifying Mexican fans and fans around the world. So when the opportunity to sign one of these stars came, Triple H saw the opportunity for WWE to market not only Mistico's style but his look. So, Mistico became Sin Cara and the sky appeared to be the limit for just how far the masked man could go. But it soon became painfully apparent that Sin Cara was going to have a very difficult time adapting to WWE's style of wrestling in the ring. Missed spots, sloppy ring work and overall poor performance led many fans to begin doubting the Mexican star's ability to mesh with WWE. The second Sin Cara appeared during this time, as Hunico was given the hood and the switch was later used in a storyline. And just when fans thought it could not get any worse for the original Sin Cara, the injuries began. In November of 2011, Sin Cara ruptured a patellar tendon while diving outside the ring. The injury required surgery and put him on the bench for the next six months. Sin Cara returned to WWE in May of 2012 and remained fairly healthy until December, when he had a knee injury that put him out of action until late January of 2013. He then spent two months out of active competition again due to various different injuries, returned in May of 2013, then went on the shelf in August due to a dislocated finger. The role of Sin Cara has now supposedly gone to Hunico once again.
