WWE: 8 Wrestlers Whose Gimmicks Were Ripped Off From Video Games
8. Suicide/Manik - Suicide
A bit of a strange one this: Suicide was originally created by Midway Games as a playable character in the TNA iMPACT video game, before the character made the jump from videogame to TV where he made his debut at Final Resolution by attacking the Motor City Machine Guns. This was the first ever instance where a character created specifically for a game became a character on TV. In the game, Suicide wins the World Heavyweight Championship and while the real life Suicide would never reach those heights he did capture the X-Division Championship and remained a staple of the division for several years. He was portrayed first by Kazarian, then Christopher Daniels and finally Kyoshi, and just recently he was reinvented slightly and named Manik, who was revealed to be played by TJ Perkins. There has never been anything similar in professional wrestling, and obviously the character isn't exactly 'ripped off' but rather lifted straight from the game. Suicide still remains a curious and downright odd part of TNA's history.
