Steve Austin is on the side of Vince McMahon...mostly. Hes fine with the suspension of Titus ONeil after he grabbed his boss's arm after Daniel Bryans retirement speech. He think it may be a bit too harsh, though, maybe 30 days would have been enough. Humiliating your boss on-air is NOT cool...even if that boss loves humiliating his talent on-air all the time. But what really pisses Austin off is people claiming this suspension was racially inspired! Most people seem to agree it was more of a star power inspired suspension (Roman Reigns or John Cena probably would have received a stern verbal warning, or perhaps a passive aggressive text message later). However, you cant really get too mad at fans who think it was racially motivated, as when it comes to race, due to WWEs history, they really shouldnt get the benefit of the doubt. But Austin doesnt want to hear none of that. He wanted to let people know that Bryans farewell speech was no time to clown around... well, thats probably what he should have said:
"...it's not a time to be shucking and jiving out there, so lay some type of punishment down, fine him this, that or whatever. I don't know, something was inappropriate."
Shucking and jiving? Hes saying that in 2016? About a black man? Hell, eight years ago, one of Americas top babyfaces in Justin Timberlake said that on ESPN and it was edited out, due to the phrase having racial connotations. Im guessing Austin didnt realize the irony in complaining about people complaining about race, and using a historically racially loaded term. As punishment, Titus gets to touch his arm at an inappropriate time.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
