WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Feb 28)

2. Stop The Train!

The Godfather did not main event one pay-per-view. He didn€™t have a single run with the world title. He had no memorable promos, no great feuds, no great matches. Not one. Charles Wright portrayed a one-note character that was more offensive and racially motivated than anything. The man played a pimp, and before that was a member of the Nation of Domination which was originally conceived to be a group of black men who complained about their treatment in the company and in the country (which somehow made them villains), and before that he was a Voodoo Priest. Damn Vince. He made one man play three stereotypes! Now Wright did fine in the roles for what he was asked, which in his later career mainly consisted of coming to the ring with attractive women, and then delivering the same line about rolling a fatty and exclaiming €œpimpin€™ ain€™t easy!€ He€™d then have a short, forgettable match, and then we€™d see him the next week. Yeah, I get it, it€™s Vince McMahon€™s Hall of Fame, and he can do whatever he wants with it, but The Godfather? The thing is, a lot of wrestlers really do care about the induction, and there are many, many, MANY others who deserve enshrinement more than him.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
