WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Feb 7)

4. Greatest Cruiserweight Never

On three different occasions now, Josh Matthews has said that Gregory Helms is the greatest Cruiserweight champ of all time. I tried to ignore it the first time...and then the second time, but three is too much! Initially, I gave him the benefit of the doubt by thinking maybe he said it because Helms had the longest reign ever. Fair enough, I guess. BUT, he said that Helms is the €œlongest reigning AND the best Cruiserweight champion.€ Okay, that€™s it! When you were king of a division that was composed of Scotty 2 Hotty, Funaki, Jimmy Wang Yang and Nunzio, that€™s not quite fair to compare it to the era of Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, Ultimo Dragon and Chris Jericho. It would be one thing if Josh was a heel announcer trying to put Helms over, but he€™s obviously overlooking at least half a dozen people who would deserve that title before him. It's ridiculous hyperbole. It would be like calling Kurt Angle the greatest WWE Champion of all time, or Drew Galloway the best Intercontinental Champ of all time, or Josh Matthews the best announcer in wrestling.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
