WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Feb 7)

5. So Long Kong

In 2010, Awesome Kong was the most exciting woman in all of wrestling. Her matches with Gail Kim were great, she stood atop an exciting Knockouts Division, and she had a distinct look and powerful move set. The future looked incredibly bright for her when WWE picked her up in 2012. Her profile was going to raise, and she€™d make a lot more money. But it all fell apart. Kong had exactly one match in the company, which was in the Royal Rumble, and then was released. In 2015 she came back to TNA, and was hopefully going to return the division to its former glory, but that never came close to happening. Whether it was age, or injuries, Kong just wasn€™t the same. The series of re-matches against Kim was like watching Hogan vs. Flair in WCW in the late 90s. Following a backstage incident with Reby Sky on the UK tour, Kong was let go. Perhaps it€™s the curse of The Dollhouse faction as both of the group€™s leaders have left the company. Or, it could be a hot temper, and a bad way of handling someone being in €œyour€ locker room. This may be it for Kong stateside in one of the top wrestling promotions. If this is how it ends, her career will go down as one of the biggest wastes of potential in recent memory.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
