WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (July 10)
4. Somebody Gonna Get Some Attention!
I cover wrestling for a living, and I legitimately didn’t know if Mark Henry had quietly retired or not. He had been talking last year about 'Mania 32 likely being his last one. And for the past three months, that had been his last match. Then on Raw, we saw the former World Heavyweight champion in the middle of a mid-card lineup without one word about his return.
Is this all he means to WWE at this point? If it is, why don’t they let him go? What purpose does his continued employment serve for them?
I like Mark Henry, and I think he deserves more, but from a pure business perspective on WWE’s end, how can they justify him staying on the roster if they're not going to bother pretending he matters? He’s likely making what multiple NXT call-ups would make, and basically anyone on the roster could have filled in for him in the tag match.
Instead of Darren Young, they should try to make Mark Henry great again.
