WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (March 20)

3. Shane€™s Struggle

Something about Shane McMahon isn€™t quite working. For starters, he didn€™t get half of a half of the pop he did on his return just a few weeks ago. Maybe fans are starting to realize they don€™t know who the hell to cheer for: The returning Shane, who left for six years and made us suffer through The Authority, or The Undertaker who has only a handful of matches left in his legendary career, competing in his home state. Last week I devoted a slide on how Shane should not be positioned as an actual fighter, and I stand by that. Now, even more so. He tried to portray himself as someone who could conceivably stand toe-to-toe with one of the greatest fighters in the history of the company, and no one is buying it. He landed a few bad looking body shots, and then had the gall to taunt him with his shuffle dance. That made him look like a bit of an idiot, and was a heelish move. Then, there€™s just something a bit off about Shane. His demeanor and voice comes across as really nervous. You can€™t quite tell if with the quivering in his voice is a signal that he€™s about to cry, or flub his lines. It€™s a huge spot, so nerves are expected, but they seem to be getting the better of him, like when the crowd had a good laugh over statement over €œYou€™re gonna hit me. I€™m gonna miss.€ Lastly, he calls Taker Vince€™s bitch, and Taker had no good response to it! We have no idea why he€™s willingly fighting this battle. Wouldn€™t he want a tougher opponent? Doesn€™t he want a title or anything? There€™s a big mess that needs to be cleaned up with the feud, and there€™s just no way it€™s going to happen.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
