WWE Announces Date For Jeff Hardy's Return

"THE COMEBACK!"

Jeff Hardy

WWE has revealed that Jeff Hardy will make his in-person comeback on next week's episode of SmackDown.

The latest (excellent) video package on Jeff's redemption story concluded with the message that "The Comeback" is on. Hardy is expected to spin off into a feud with Sheamus; the Irishman has been blasting Michael Cole for focusing on Jeff's return after his rudimentary squash match wins over local talent in recent weeks.

It wouldn't be a surprise if WWE sets up a one-on-one match between the pair for Money In The Bank on 10 May.

As fun as it'd be to see Jeff work the barmy MITB ladder matches at WWE HQ, he is probably better off working a singles rivalry away from stunt show matches for the time being. Sheamus' recent bullying antics also make him the ideal candidate for a big comeback win.

Weirdly, WWE sort of/almost/kinda' made it sound like Hardy would be returning this week during prior hype vids. That wasn't the case. He's nailed on for next week's show, and will be used as one of the broadcast's major selling points.
