WWE Armageddon PPVs - From Worst To Best

7. 2005

The Good: There was some really solid wrestling on the Armageddon 2005 undercard. The Mexicools (Super Crazy & Psicosis) versus MNM (one of the hottest new acts in the company) was a breezy, high-flying ten minute match. Chris Benoit and Booker T, meanwhile, had their usual solid, hard-nosed scrap over the US Championship. The Undertaker and Randy Orton's Hell in a Cell clash was considered a disappointment at the time but, looking back, it was actually very engaging. Orton's goofy facial expressions were a delight and 'Taker was game. Juventud versus Kid Kash was good, even if it did play out before near silence and 'boring' chants. The Bad: The Friendly Tap. Yup, that time where WWE thought it would be a good idea to film ex-referee Tim White's attempts at killing himself (because his life has supposedly been ruined due to an injury sustained inside the Cell). This wasn't funny, it didn't get anyone over and, coming so soon after the death of Eddie Guerrero, came across as insensitive. Matt Hardy was pounded like a jobber in the opener with JBL, who blasted Hardy over the house mic for 'crying to the internet' over the Edge/Lita affair. Hardy lost in just over six minutes. WWE were sending a message to him after he managed to politic his way out of taking a chokeslam from The Undertaker at Survivor Series. The Rest: The Undertaker went mental when he found out that Bob Orton had tested positive for hepatitis - Randy's dad had bladed during the match and his blood had come in contact with The Deadman. President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis got an earful from WWE's locker room leader ('Taker didn't contract the virus himself).
