WWE Armageddon PPVs - From Worst To Best

4. 2008

The Good: The main event was, fittingly, the best match of the show. Triple H, Edge and Jeff Hardy had a wonderfully inventive triple threat match with the World Heavyweight Title on the line. After many false dawns, Jeff finally won the big one, much to the delight of the fans in attendance. Chris Jericho (who had a sensational 2008) and John Cena had their usual good match, as did Rey Mysterio and CM Punk. All four men involved worked hard here. Batista vs. Randy Orton wasn't the epic match you'd think it would be but it was still pretty damn good. Odd to see it placed firmly in the midcard, mind. And Rey Mysterio and CM Punk had a good match in the Intercontinental Championship contender tournament finals. They'd have better matches a couple of years down the line, but this was decent. Both men were babyfaces and had to really graft in order to get fans invested, which they were (especially for the near falls). Clumsy Punk probably didn't want to bloody Rey's nose with the GTS, though. The Bad: It wasn't terrible, but Vladimir Kozlov versus Matt Hardy is not something I'd ever want to watch again. It was just so dull, and the clean heel finish did nothing to help Hardy. Mark Henry and Fit Finlay's Belfast Brawl was similar in that it wasn't awful or anything and worked as an acceptable time-waster, but didn't really belong on PPV. Ditto the eight diva tag match (yawn). The Rest: This is the PPV where Khali and Mae Young finally (and I use that term as sarcastically as possible) made out. I'm sure some of you are into that kind of thing...
