Before Backlash had even started, there were questions over whether or not the Kickoff show would actually feature any matches. Randy Orton was pulled from his bout with Bray Wyatt, meaning the pay-per-view was one match down before even beginning. This dictated that management would have to frantically search for a quick replacement.

That replacement turned out to be Kane, but there's a chance the Kickoff encounter between Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews could have been shunted to the main card had that not happened. Those who don't regularly tune in for the pre-show missed a surprisingly excellent match between Corbin and Crews, and those men weren't alone on the Backlash Kickoff in terms of hidden gems.

The Kickoff show featured a fair few easy-to-miss moments, but all of them merit going back to watch for those who skipped them. This article saves you some hours, preventing the need to go back and watch Backlash for a second time in order to pick up on things you may have missed..

10. Alexa Bliss Cutting A Scathing Promo

Even Amy 'Lita' Dumas seemed surprised by the ferocity of the verbal tirade delivered by Alexa Bliss. There's something great about the entire Bliss character, she's snooty at the right moments and has a bitchy quality that harks back to what WWE once loved about female wrestlers. At the same time, she's accomplished inside the ring.

Joining Renee Young, Booker T and Jerry 'The King' Lawler for a brief chat, Alexa was there to discuss with the Kickoff show panel her chances in the upcoming Six-Pack Challenge. As the match was less than an hour away (it opened the pay-per-view), it would have been understandable for Bliss to appear disconnected from the promo.

That wasn't the case, and it's just a shame the interview took place on the pre-show and not on Backlash itself. Had it done, there's a chance many more people would be talking about Alexa's ability to speak clearly and put across her point concisely.

Acting like a true heel, Bliss also pretty much dissed Lita, saying she didn't have the time to chat any longer. Brief but well executed.
