WWE Backlash 2026: 10 Things That NEED To Happen

This may need to happen, people.

Sure, it'd be some comedown from a WrestleMania 42 main event opposite smouldering 'OTC' Roman Reigns for CM Punk, but he probably wouldn't pass up the chance to help his real-life pal Danhausen bed in further by teaming with him. That'd drop the jaws of The Miz and Kit Wilson before their tag bout even started.

Ideally, Punk would play all of this for laughs. After all, Miz and Kit are hardly the most threatening duo skulking the hallways of Raw or SmackDown, so there'd be no need for Punk to "zone in" and take any of this seriously. It'd be the levity of the PLE. The 'let me up' match, if you prefer.

There are other options for whom Danhausen could team with. He'd likely make anything work, being frank, but it isn't like Punker has anything else going on right now anyway. So, a mini-excursion into the land of the weirdos and freaks could be just the ticket to ease CM back into things after a dramatic bout with Roman and fraught verbal encounter with Cody Rhodes.

Punk's entrance would surely take up most of the time here. All 4 guys can afford to stall, stall and stall some more in between spots. Nobody's going into this expecting a 5-star classic. It's a Danhausen skit, so it'll be silly and end with egg on the faces of some heels as they throw Christian from 2002-style temper tantrums about the whole scenario.

Then, Danhausen can do his hasty exit gag and Punk can pose like Hulk Hogan for a bit. Simple.
