Over the past while, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have been written in comedic fashion. There's something distinctly bizarre about seeing the menacing pair pretend to be doctors or 'retirement workers', making toilet humour jokes and hokey sexual references aplenty during their promos. In an instant, all of that was washed away at Clash Of Champions.

Gallows and Anderson didn't come into their match against The New Day seeking laughs, wearing white coats or carrying eggs in jars. They were simply there to kick some teeth down some throats, end New Day's lengthy WWE Tag-Team Title reign and walk away with the gold.

In the end, they didn't, but it was great to see Gallows and Anderson coming across as a more serious team than a pair of clowns. The result was a much more heated match, it seems like WWE agreed that the comedy aspects were doing nothing for the feud.

On commentary, the announcers didn't even bring up naff segments like 'The Old Day', which actually helped the match have a sense of credibility.
