6. Drew McIntyre Makes Karrion Kross

Besides, even with the interference, Drew can still find a way to make Karrion look like he definitely belongs in the main event scene. That's surely the end goal of booking this feud; WWE will want Kross to spin out of the McIntyre scenario as a bigger star than he was going in.

The only way to achieve that is by putting Karrion over the Scot when it counts.

Drew is a made man in the eyes of the fans, and he won't look like some no-hoper if he does the honours for Kross on back-to-back pay-per-views. That speaks to the star power of McIntyre, and the credit he's built up with WWE's core audience over a lengthy period of time. He can take a loss here, basically.

Karrion needs the win more than Drew does. The heel is the one who needs to confirm his status as a major player towards the upper card, and he'll only do that if he's consistently booked as a threat to the big boys on SmackDown.
