WWE ended the speculation on Saturday and confirmed what many already had assumed as fact: the company will return to Las Vegas next year for WrestleMania 42.

The news comes just over two weeks after the company pulled out of their plans for New Orleans to host the 2026 edition of WrestleMania.

WWE announced the move via vignette during their Money in the Bank PLE.

WWE initially unveiled the location of WrestleMania 42 in grand style, with The Rock appearing on the 21 February edition of SmackDown, which emanated from New Orleans, to inform the residents of the Big Easy that 'Mania would return to their city on 11-12 April, 2026. In the aftermath of the news last month that they had the rug pulled out from under them, Triple H announced that New Orleans would host a WrestleMania "at a later date," and Money in the Bank 2026 would take place there.

The decision to return to Vegas likely has a lot to do with the record gate and profits WWE pulled in while visiting Sin City this April. In recent days, Wrestling Observer Live's Bryan Alvarez said that WWE had "cleared several hurdles" on their path back to Vegas, with Alvarez adding, "Vegas is apparently making a lot of concessions to clear the way for WrestleMania. I was told that as of today, it is almost a done deal."

And now, WWE is apparently free and clear to head back to Allegiant Stadium next year, albeit a week later than what they originally intended when WrestleMania 42 was taking place in New Orleans.

This marks the first time WWE has held its signature event in the same venue in back-to-back years since WrestleManias 4 and 5 at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, NJ.
