WWE Draft 2017: 10 Things That Need To Happen
2. DIY To SmackDown
This one seems unlikely, since NXT is a touring brand and needs to keep some box office power of its own in order to sell tickets, but it's hard to imagine what's left for Ciampa and Gargano following their failed attempts to recapture tag team gold. It's been established that they can't believably topple 'The Authors of Pain', and while a DIY call up would leave AOP with no challengers to speak of, seeing DIY get destroyed week after week isn't going to accomplish a great deal.
Just as it was when American Alpha, The Vaudevillains, and Enzo & Cass left NXT, it's time for a new breed of tag teams to invade NXT and vie for the newly redesigned tag straps.
SmackDown also needs some bodies for its tag team league, since the division is currently being held up by The Usos (who have managed to regain popularity by turning heel), a less-than-over American Alpha, and borderline-enhancement teams like The Ascension, Breezango, and the aforementioned Vaudevillains.
Things were so bad they even had to call in the Spirit Squad and The Headbangers last year.
With The Usos now employing classic heel team tactics instead of just superkicks, the potential for them to have outstanding matches with DIY is plain for all to see.
