WWE Elimination Chamber 2025: 7 Things That Must Happen

4. Cody Rhodes Tells The Rock No

Hey, what if The Rock asking Cody Rhodes to become his corporate champion is the beginning of a slow burn journey towards Cody as WWE's top heel? That sounds outrageous given his popularity, but it isn't impossible. On Raw, Rhodes did get a little smart-arsed and arrogant when confronted by Seth Rollins, so who knows? Don't rule out him saying yes eventually.

Not on Saturday though.

Cody already laid it out for Rocky on last week's episode of SmackDown. He didn't exactly call himself the "People's Champion", but that's what he was alluding to when he said he was "their champion" and gestured towards the fans. Naturally, The Rock would be furious if Rhodes publicly knocked back his offer, and he'd be even more incredulous if someone else alleged that they were the "People's Champ".

WWE will spin out everything to do with this at Chamber. Cody's entrance will be lengthy and full of crowd participation, Dwayne will try to beat Roman's time by acting like he's performing an Undertaker routine at WrestleMania for his, and both will do plenty of stalling just like they did on SmackDown. Only one word will matter through it all: "No".

That must be Cody's answer for now. After all, he's in the thick of 'Mania season and doesn't even know who he'll be wrestling on the biggest show(s) of 2025 yet. Rock's request is too much to take in as things stand, so Rhodes can't give him an answer here and now. "I'll think on it. I promise you that".

The Rock's answer afterwards?
