WWE Elimination Chamber 2026: 7 Nightmares That Could Come True

5. CM Punk Beats Bálor’s ‘Demon’

...what if WWE pull this stunt instead?

What a waste it'd be if it's Finn Bálor's 'Demon' persona that's hiding inside the big crate that's been lugged about the place between Raw and SmackDown recently. Not only would that make zero sense (if it's the 'Demon', then nothing has been inside the box all along, because he'd have to get into it once it lands in Chicago!), but it'd also burn a popular gimmicky return.

This company already chipped away at Finn's alter ego during a terrible finish opposite Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules 2021, and they defo don't need to go there again by having CM Punk defeat the 'Demon' as well. That should only be brought out for special occasions, WrestleMania 39's Hell In A Cell effort vs. Edge was better, but it was still another loss for the offshoot character and he can't sustain too many of those.

The 'Demon's' entire concept is that it's an unstoppable, Venom-esque version of Bálor. If its last 3 appearances all result in defeats, then...why should fans care the next time Finn dusts it off and brings the look out of storage? Genuine plea: WWE creative should just stay well clear of even thinking about this.

Bálor would have nowhere to go if he chucks the 'Demon' at Punk and it still isn't enough. Plus, their feud isn't hot or intense enough to warrant reaching for the face/body paints anyway. Nah, they've painted (ahem) themselves into a corner with the rematch thing between these guys, and WWE will simply have to stomach that then move on.

No 'Demon' needed.
