WWE FORCED To Switch NXT From Wednesdays - AEW To Officially Win War?

Here's why USA Network wants to move WWE NXT off Wednesday nights.

News that WWE NXT could be on the verge of a permanent move away from Wednesday nights broke last night, as Triple H's black and gold brand scored another evening of boosted ratings without direct AEW Dynamite competition, posting healthy increases for their Super Tuesday special.

Fightful Select have now come through with fresh details on the situation, stating that USA Network pitched the switch months ago.

While the network and WWE enjoy a healthy, trusting relationship, USA officials dislike the competitive side of the Wednesday Night Wars. They believe that facing off against Dynamite every week hurts their numbers, with WWE reportedly open to the idea of moving to a different night full-time as the talks continue.

Nothing is set in stone yet and nobody has been informed of any changes, though the two Super Tuesday specials (this week and next) are being seen as trial runs, despite initially being switched due to a clash with NHL playoff coverage. One must imagine that this week's healthy viewership and 18-49 demographic figures will only strengthen USA Network's stance.

This is a developing situation, so expect further updates before long. Switching ultimately seems like the right move for a brand routinely defeated by AEW in the Wednesday Night Wars, though.
