WWE Glasgow Live Review - 10 Interesting Observations You Need To Know
8. Celebrity Appearances Get Fans Booing
There was a time when celebrity appearances at WWE events were treated like a big deal, but nowadays the promotion is struggling to convince fans that when those famous outside the wrestling bubble show up it's anything other than a colossal waste of time. In Glasgow, Rangers striker Kenny Miller was brought out before the crowd to act as a 'guest timekeeper' for a tag bout between The Lucha Dragons and The Ascension. It's fascinating to watch someone who routinely plays football in front of around 50,000 people look so out of his element - Miller was awkward, and in a city like Glasgow, it's a bit polarising to bring out a player on either side of the 'Old Firm' divide. Miller is a sportsman, not a performer, and he had a bemused look on his face throughout the entire match. Perhaps the only enjoyment gained from his appearance was one cheeky young lad repeatedly tapping his shoulder and then looking away, something which was visibly irking the footballer. Nice idea (the celebrity appearance), but flawed in execution, and pretty much pointless.
