WWE Hall Of Fame 2014: 10 Candidates For Induction

6. Goldberg

During the late 90s, perhaps only Steve Austin had a hotter run than Goldberg. While Goldberg didn't have the longevity or the passion as many others in the Hall, he reached heights that few of them ever did. To this day, you still hear Goldberg chants in arenas wherever Ryback shows up. The fans have clearly not forgotten him. Putting Goldberg in the Hall seems like a no-brainer, but his sour relationship with WWE has so far left him out. As they say, time heals all wounds. Goldberg has recently been open to the idea of competing once more. He'd like for his young son to be able to see him live, as he wasn't even born when he had his last match nearly 10 years ago. WWE also seems receptive to the idea. He could provide a great spectacle, and bring in some long lost fans. With the recent success of the Goldberg DVD, there's quite a bit of demand to see "The Man" once again. While it seemed that Ryback would have been the ideal opponent for him, he's fallen so far off of WWE's radar that the match would actually be beneath Goldberg at this point. Perhaps he could have a short feud with someone like Roman Reigns and put him over, or just be brought in to squash someone. And if Goldberg is going to put on the trunks once more, inducting him in the Hall at the same time could be a great added promotion for it.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
