WWE: Kurt Angle "Can't Lie To TNA" Anymore, He Has WWE Return Desire

kurt angle wwe When a former five time WWE Champion speaks about his desire to go back to WWE, the wrestling world listens. That is what's happened as former 5-time WWE Champion Kurt Angle spoke to The Sun in the UK for a nearly 30 minute chat. He was in town promoting the TNA Wrestling events taking place in the UK over the next week. You can watch the video right here. The most interesting aspect of the chat had to deal with Angle's comments relating to a possible return to World Wrestling Entertainment, where he had an amazing career from 1999 to 2006. Here's what Angle had to say about a WWE return.
"I can't say when. My (TNA) contract is up in September and I've left my options open. I'm very happy in TNA. Dixie Carter has treated me very well and always been there for me. But, I can't lie to myself anymore. I can't lie to TNA or WWE. Yeah, there is that desire to go back. I just don't know when. It could be this year. It could be next year. I don't know when."
He sounds like a guy that really wasn't sure what he wanted to do at this point, but his confirmation that his contract is up in September will lead to a lot of speculation that he will be WWE bound later this year. I think an Angle return to WWE would be amazing. The big question is his health. At 45 years old, Angle has a long list of injuries and there's no telling if he can even pass a WWE physical. Assuming he can, there are some potential dream matches against the likes of CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. He specifically mentioned them in the interview, so clearly it's something Angle is thinking about. There are other appealing matches with Angle possibly working another match against Brock Lesnar that would be very enticing considering all the special matches they had together. Angle also spoke about how he thought Shawn Michaels was the best wrestler ever, how he thinks his greatest rival was Brock Lesnar, his great matches with Chris Benoit and getting praise from Triple H. Will he go to WWE? It seems likely. The contract is up in September, so it's definitely something to keep our eyes on the rest of 2014.
