WWE Money In The Bank 2016: 10 Things You Probably Missed

4. Clear Lack Of Scripting In Heel Money In The Bank Promo

Over the past few years, a lot has been made of WWE handing elaborate scripts to their performers before promo segments. These have to be learned word-for-word, deviating from the script is certainly not advisable, especially for lower-level stars. At Money In The Bank, the idea of scripting was thrown completely out of the nearest window.

Starting things off, Kevin Owens cut a routine promo about his chances in the Money In The Bank Ladder Match. Soon, he and Tom Phillips were joined by Chris Jericho and Alberto Del Rio. All of the heels got together to try and get the better of one another, and it was oddly hilarious.

Not everything went smoothly, Owens even called Phillips 'Todd', and there was a loose feel to the segment overall. That was for the better, because it allowed each man to be more creative and natural with his statements.

The whole thing felt more like a real conversation than a stilted WWE-style interview. Go back and watch it again if you didn't catch that vibe the first time around.
