WWE Money In The Bank 2025: 7 Nightmares That Could Come True

1. Cody Rhodes Does Sell His Soul

The brutal reality facing WWE is that they might try to make things better with The Rock and accidentally wind up making things worse simply to massage his ego. The bottom line is that Rock wanted Cody Rhodes to turn heel pre-WrestleMania, not John Cena. Triple H might well give Dwayne what he craved just to shut him up.

A kick in the balls for Jey Uso would get WWE there, but it wouldn't actually make any sense. Cody wants revenge on Cena for stabbing him in the back and taking his title at 'Mania, so why would he turn on one of the guys who has had his best interests at heart for ages? Overdue vengeance for some of the stuff that occurred when Rhodes was feuding with Roman and The Bloodline? Hmm, that's flimsy after so much else has happened between them.

In the end, WWE staffers pitching this would argue that they need something massive to breathe fresh life into proceedings on SmackDown, especially if the 3-hour shows are going to continue (which recent news suggests they are). Cody going heel out of the blue would scratch that itch, but it opens up all sorts of logic gaps and plot holes too.

By selling his soul, Rhodes would effectively be winning an intangible Money In The Bank golden ticket of his own. Rock would let him challenge for any title he pleased, including Cena's WWE prize, thus forcing John back towards the babyface side before he retires for good at the end of the year.

Could it work? Maybe, but does anyone trust WWE to handle something this momentous carefully after the lacklustre Elimination Chamber fallout? Probably not. Cody going heel should be huge, not just something that happens because the writers can't think of anything else.
