WWE Money In The Bank 2025: 7 Nightmares That Could Come True

2. WWE Go ‘Old’ Survivor Series In Summer

OK, an explanation is needed for this one.

By “old”, this writer means pre-WarGames addition. Y’know, those days when Vince McMahon would put one champion up against another without either belt being on the line. Those matches were only functional at best, and they hardly screamed 'YOU MUST WATCH THIS SHOW' to viewers at home. They often left Survivor Series feeling like a lame duck pay-per-view, because not many not-named VKM cared about the whole "brand warfare" idea after a while.

WWE could well go this road with John Cena and Jey Uso at Night Of Champions over in Saudi Arabia, and it’d be a boring as all hell way to fill time. Of course, Jey did eliminate Cena last to win the 2025 Royal Rumble, so there's some sort of issue to wrestle with there. It's weak though, and it doesn't sound captivating enough to "find out who is the best champion between both men" without any stakes.

Cena has already burned a bit of time on this retirement tour. People were moaning about him working R-Truth until the latter got cut loose, then far too many of those folks magically began fighting Truth's corner again. It shouldn't be forgotten that WWE still hasn't brought The Rock back into view to properly explore exactly why John turned rogue in the first place back in March either.

That's 3 months and counting without that explanation, for the record. More exhibition-style fare (even against a popular name like Uso) will only further irk those who think this Cena retirement tour has sagged in the middle.
