Cash In: Unsuccessful.

John Cena added another name to the list of unsuccessful MITB cash-ins when he thwarted Damien Sandow's attempt to steal away his World Heavyweight title in 2013. Sandow had targeted Cena's injured arm, but that still wasn't enough to earn him the belt and he was pinned by the champ on Monday Night Raw.

After this Sandow would struggle to establish himself as a legitimate threat in the company and fell into an impersonations gimmick, which eventually leads to an unlikely alliance with The Miz. Here Sandow excelled as Miz' renamed stunt double, Damien Mizdow. Fans fully got behind Mizdow in the coming months and he eventually turned on his cruel boss at WrestleMania 31. His success as a singles star wouldn't last long, however, as Sandow reverted back to his old name and formed an alliance with Curtis Axel. With Sandow imitating Randy Savage and Axel doing his best Hulk Hogan the pair decided to call themselves the 'Meta Powers'.

After that failed experiment came to an end, Sandow meandered for another year and was finally released from the company in 2016.

Sandow would then return to the independent scene as Aron Stevens, before joining TNA/Impact Wrestling and changing his name to Aron Rex in August 2016. He then left the company a year later.

As Stevens, the former WWE star can now be found in the NWA promotion, where he currently reigns as their NWA National Heavyweight Champion.
