After special guest referee Triple H had performed a Pedigree on new WWE Champion Daniel Bryan in the wake of his heart-warming victory over John Cena at SummerSlam 2013, Mr. MITB Randy Orton slithered into the ring and cashed-in his recently won briefcase.

This set up Orton as The Authority backed new 'face of the company' and he eventually unified the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs when he beat champion John Cena in a TLC match.

He would lose the belts to Bryan at WrestleMania XXX and then rejoined Evolution for a spell - alongside Triple H and Batista - before he eventually turned on The Authority in 2015.

In 2016, Orton found himself in a high-profile match with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. However, the match controversially ended with Orton being bludgeoned into the canvas by some legitimate Lesnar elbows, severely busting him open and forcing a TKO finish. Orton then went on to feud with the likes of Bray Wyatt, Jinder Mahal and Jeff Hardy in the years that followed, adding another WWE Championship and his first United States Title to his stellar resume.

He recently went to war with a returning Edge in a divisive Last Man Standing match at WrestleMania 36. Orton lost the match and hasn't been seen on WWE programming since.
