WWE MSG Boxing Day Show Card Revealed
It's going to be a long winter.
Earlier this month, Madison Square Garden revealed a WWE event scheduled for 26 December as part of the company's festively titled Holiday Tour. As is the trend with the company's shows of late, the venue's official website jumped the proverbial starting pistol in revealing a list of matches set for the card.
For those still holding out hope that WWE's product is about to head in dynamic new directions, it all makes for rather disappointing reading.
Leading the show is a WWE Championship bout in a steel cage between AJ Styles and Samoa Joe. Keep in mind this house show is on Boxing Day, meaning the pair's feud is set to last another three months.
The rest of the card is similarly familiar. Daniel Bryan and The Miz are slated for another showdown, as are SmackDown Women's Champion Becky Lynch and Charlotte. Pass the coffee pot...
A whole slew of other stars are listed for elsewhere on the show, though as yet there are no further specifics. John Cena, Dean Ambrose, and Randy Orton are all down for NYC, as is Naomi (!). Notably, neither Roman Reigns nor Ronda Rousey are advertised.
WWE Live Holiday Tour at MSG takes place on 26 December - though based on the card, Christmas has came early for those who already watch WWE's product.
