Throughout the show, we were treated to teasers of a new interview-like show hosted by JBL called ‘Legends with JBL’.

From initial presentation, it looks very similar to Steve Austin’s ‘Stone Cold Podcast’ in terms of its more ‘realistic’ questions and tone. Those commercials, which showed JBL talking to first guest Eric Bischoff, featured samples of 'backstage' questions, and JBL specifically name-dropped Vince Russo.

Form the looks of it, this show might be WWE’s attempt to capitalize on the success of Austin’s podcast by bringing in someone who gets straight to the point and asks the tough questions. Of course, the big question to ask right now is, ‘how will this show stack up to Austin’s?’

Austin constantly generates the most fan interest and he always asks the toughest questions, so it would be hard for JBL’s to stack up since he’s still a WWE loyalist who often speaks on-air with Vince’s voice. Can someone like that be trusted to ask uncomfortable questions in the same way (or more so) as Stone Cold does?

The decision to have Bischoff as the show’s first guest is also an intriguing point. When one takes into account just how much WWE Network content features him as either a central or peripheral character, it’s becoming increasingly obvious that he played a much bigger role than what WWE gave him credit for over previous years.
