WWE Night Of Champions 2023: 10 Things That Must Happen
8. GUNTHER Sprints Past Mustafa Ali
It's a tossup between Rhea vs. Natalya and GUNTHER vs. Mustafa Ali for NOC's least-impressive title bout on paper. On Raw, Mustafa was made to look like some jobber during a throwaway comedy skit starring Brock Lesnar, and that...certainly didn't help his cause heading into this Intercontinental Title fight.
Let's just say your money is safe if you have a betting slip with "GUNTHER" and "£10" written on it.
Like Rhea, there's just no way the Imperium leader loses his gold this weekend. WWE has grand plans for GUNTHER (rightly so), and they'll never take Mustafa all that seriously. Basically, this will be a spirited 10-minute underdog performance, then the champ will smash his way to yet another title defence.
Nobody should have a problem with that. The IC Title means more on GUNTHER than it did on countless others for years. It'd be nonsensical to end his title reign on a fluke in Saudi Arabia, especially when Ali as champ sounds like WWE creative's worst nightmare anyway.
